Nighthawk Login Timed Out
I have a Netgear model R7900P router Firmware V1.4.1.66_1.3.26 and have Nighthawk V2.7.2.1373 on my phone. I was notified of a firmware update. When I tried to connect with Nighthawk, after verifying my fingerprint it still wanted the password. I entered the password and got “Login Timed Out”. I rebooted the router and was able to get into Nighthawk but when I tried to display Attached Devices I got “Connected Devices Not Found”. I tried Internet Speed Test I got “Connection Failed”. I exited Nighthawk and tried again and was back to “Login Timed Out”. I can connect with routerlogin.net with no problem.

Is that Android? iOS has been having a hard time following one of Apple's troublesome uodates.
Login to the device can be a two-stage process. First the wifi, then the interface. It is even more complicated if you use Anywhere Access.

There are several ways to connect with routerlogin.net. If this mean that you can connect with a wired LAN link and the browser graphical user interface (GUI) that is the best way to get in and update firmware. It doesn't rely in a wifi connection that might die mid-update, wrecking your router in the process.
The preferred option for experienced users is this one:
How do I manually upgrade firmware to my NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.
Check the section in the manual on updating the firmware.- muzzledInitiate
I was experiencing the exact issue but finally got through to my R7960P from the nighthawk app by setting my timezone appropriately (Advanced->Administration->NTP Settings).
My problem started after updating the firmware to V1.4.1.68. No sure why the timezone was ever changed but when I got to the setting it was in GMT 00:00. I changed it to my timezone, and also set my preferred NTP server to time.apple.com, click apply, then when the router comes back online my phone can connect to it straight away.
