Why is a Q our code required for my wireless settings button ??

Yes, that can be one use case scenario. You can also use your own mobile devices that can scan the QR code. It is basically a way to see the wireless settings (WiFI name and WiFi password) of your network.

Hi @kingbone99,
Scanning the QR code found on the Wireless Settings tab of the NETGEAR Genie program allows you to connect a wireless device (i.e. smartphone) to the network since it will provide the SSID and the passphrase. The device should have a QR code scanner app.

- I still don't understand. I have the mobile genie app on my phone. What would I scan a Q code for? A guest phone?
