R7000 cannot update firmware using Nighthawk App
I am unable to update the firmware (V.1.0.9.88) via the Nighthawk app. When I check for updates via the app it tells me none are available. I'm not sure how to update the router otherwise. Suggestions please

Use a wired PC and web browswer and download the FW file from NG download support site and manually apply the FW file using the routers web page.
Like FURRYe38 says, do the manual update with the R7000. The r7000 has had firmware issues. It seems like it does the best with the manual update, then a factory reset, and installing fresh (not from a backup).

To add to what others say, your problem may be because you are about three years behind the current version of the firmware.
V.1.0.9.88 dates back to June 2019.
Be warned that a new version may remove some features that you now rely on. On the other hand, it may also add a feature that you'd like, although you might have to pay to use it.
Check the release notes of the intermediate versions to check if that applies to you.
