Speed Test and Traffic Meter privacy
Is there no way to opt out of the personal data gathered by Ookla’s Internet Speed and Traffic Meter functions in Netgear’s Nighthawk app? Ookla’s privacy statements document aggressively invasive levels of data scraping and resale from its privileged perch on Netgear’s modems and routers. Is this gathering and sale of user data impossible to stop, strange behavior by a company known for advanced security. Does Ookla/Netgear gather and process our data regardless of whether or not Ookla routines are run within the Nighthawk app?

Nope.
Either don't use it and use external speed test apps for speed testing when needed.
