Already registered to unknown pre-owner

Were you ever able to resolve this? Netgear wants me to purchase a $169 service fee in order for them to fix. Thanks.

    What do you expect from a second-hand device registration removal exactly?

     

    Warranty, ongoing paid support, and on most case subscribed services are it transferable.

    There is no disadvantage not being able to register your secondhand device.

     

    Desperately want to ensure the serial number is unregistered from the previous owner account?

     

    Send email to [email protected] with:

     

    • the subject line "Problem with my.netgear.com"
    • the description of the issue you are experiencing
    • your full name and contact information

    PS. Even if your device will be unregistered by support, you won't be able to register the device as like new. You won't get any allowance for the initial free support of a factory new (or refurbished), nor will you get the warranty according to the original buyer.
