CAX80 - Internet Outage Reset
It happened a few of times I had a disruption in my internet signal. The latest with an Internet outage. My ISP is COX and after the outage was over my signal coming from then was good. But after multiple resets and troubleshooting COX could not figure it out. I logged in my router and confirmed all the settings were good. Ultimately, I rest the router and established it again which made by connection work.
I just read this post which I think is describing the same thing.

Is that a normal procedure? Has anyone else experienced this? Did I do the right thing or should I do something else instead of reseting the router?

You shouldn't need to. I've been swapping routers, and modem/router combo devices for a long time and never ran into that issue.
I'd be curious about the signal from cox. Got a copy of the cable connections page and event logs.
