MR60 configure channels manually
I operate MAC OSX systems; Snow Leopard, Lion, El Capitan, Catalina, & Monterey.
Also iOS iPad and Android phones.
MR60 firmware v,1.0.6.116
I've had a set of NightHawk MR60 + 2 MS60's for about a year. In the beginning it was easy to sign into the MR60 using the external IP, e.g., 192.168.1.240 (not the subnet IP 10.0.0.1) and manually set the channel for each band.
Then I received a message about important firmware upgrade. I attempted the upgrade and failed, because the instructions said nothing about the satellites. I took NightHawk offline, and set it aside. Recently I did complete the firmware upgrade on all three devices and reinstalled the system. It works pretty well.
Original problem of automatic channel selection being poor remains. This is a noisy townhouse wifi environment. Auto selection puts both signals on top of neighbors signals at the high end of both bands.
But now, after the firmware upgrade, I can no longer sign into the MR60 using its external IP address, thus cannot change the channels.
What is the correct procedure to change channels and any other setting on this router?
Thanks,
Lou

I made a lot of progress solving this on my own.
MS60 is set up as it should be, after finally accessing it from a browser on its external IP.
The 2 MS60's are not set up yet. I'm quitting for now.
I don't have good feelings for NetGear and their documentation.
