MS60 loops after update

After updating my MR60 and MS60 to  V1.1.9.146_2.0.72 the satellites won’t finish booting up.

On power it blinks white 13 times, pauses briefly, blinks 30 times, pauses, goes white for a moment, then repeats.

The link light on the unmanaged switch blinks for a few seconds, then goes off again, repeating just like the status light on the MS.

I’ve tried holding the reset button in for 30 seconds, and holding the reset button for 30s while powering up the MS, same result- looping pattern of blinking white.

It never responds to a ping, much less the admin web page.

Same for both satellites.

Any ideas how to get it to finish its boot cycle?

Thanks

And you updated the MS first before you updated the MR?

  • FURRYe38, at this point the MS doesn't finish booting. It just  loops in 7 and 14 second cycles. Even after multiple hard resets, it just loops.

Seems like the MS is now in a bad state that even 30-30-30 reset can't fix. Will need to find a replacement.

  • Thanks for the followups!

FrumpyGrandpa, yes, multiple times- reset for +30 seconds and 30-30-30. Unless there's another way to factory re-set it?

plemans, yes, hardwired on a tested cable to the MR and let it try for hours.

The MS just cycles. It came up after the update, even showed as connected in the MR admin page, but when I moved it it didn't come up. Now it only cycles- doesn't complete the boot.

Did you reset both MS and MR and give 5 minutes to see if the MS would auto connect to the MRs default SSID name, prior to setting up the MR? With out the ethernet cable being connected. Have the MS in same room as the MR.

have you tried hardwiring it into the MR router to see if its a sync issue?

Try hardwiring them into the MR lan port and walking away for 30 minutes (with them powered on)
