Nighthawk Mesh AX 3000 no internet connection

Question

Alright so my family bought the Nighthawk Mesh wifi 6 system. The idea was to get rid of the internet provider (century link) rental modem. I had to call the help line because the Nighthawk was not getting connected to the internet. We walked through the set up and it was connected. I asked the agent if I was able to get rid of my modem now since the Nighthawk was a router. And she said yes. So I unplugged the original modem and I am still not getting internet. So my question is.

Is the Nighthawk mesh wifi modem/router able to provide internet without the original modem? If yes then why won't it recieve internet?

1. what ax3000 device do you have? That's a speed, not a model number
2. what modem/gateway from centurylink are you replacing?&nbsp;
3. did you contact centurylink since they might have their own login info you need to enter into the router?&nbsp;
4. Is it fibre? DSL? what's your service?

Model Number is MK73SCentury link modem is C3000ZI have the admin login info from century linkits DSL and I have the fastest speed which is 1gig

I'm not sure if you're fully aware of what they have setup.&nbsp;
Reason I say this is DSL doesn't support 1 gig speeds.&nbsp;
So you must have fibre. does that fibre come into an ONT? or what is it connected to?&nbsp;
Centurylink is great at requiring their own gateway.&nbsp;
What I see a lot of people do is use their gateway, disable its wifi, and then put the netgears IP address into the centurylink's DMZ.&nbsp;

I have no clue what your talking about now as I obviously have no clue what they did. But I was able to finally get into my century link account and found I am receiving 940 MBPS.&nbsp;I do know My Century link modem is connected via Cat5 coming out of my kitchen wall.&nbsp;I talked to a coworker about this and he said he was able to turn off the wifi on his century link modem and placed the Netgears IP into the century link.&nbsp;The whole goal is to stop paying the $15 a month for a rental modem especially since I have done this for 2 years and more and could have bought a really good modem at this point.&nbsp;

Centurylink doesn't make using your own router easy. I don't have centurylink so I can only go off what others have done/said.&nbsp;

Some of the requirements go over setting a vlan tag id. pages 85-86 of the manual go over doing that.&nbsp;
Plus you'll need all your popoe info.&nbsp;
