Question about the lan port on a MS60

Can the lan port be used to connect a hardwired device like a computer, hub or switch?  Or is it only there for the sake of hardwiring the satellite to the router.  In my setup the satellite connects to the router fine (LED is blue) but devices I connect to the lan port do not work.

You can connect devices to it.

    what device are you connecting?

What firmware is on the satellite and the router?

  • The satellite Ethernet port works how you'd expect...it's to give a hard wired device (or switch or whatever) access to the shared network across wifi.  Meaning it'll have the delay and limited bandwidth that a wireless network would.

I plugged my desktop into a satellite and can only get 250Mbps on our 600Mbps connection, but the router itself that has a wired connection to the modem sees 650-700Mbps available.  And I'm not gaming anymore so don't have a typical ping example to offer.
