2.5 gbps ports x5 on newer model nighthawks....

I was wondering if Nighthawk would start producing a 2.5 gbps gaming router since, 10% of the computers today are shipped with 2.5 gbps ethernet gaming cards on motherboards....I have a TPLink router that has 2.5 gbps x 5 ports that I have to use now but I would rather have a NIGHTHAWK WITH DUMAOS.....PLEASE MAKE ONE...

NGs XR700 has a SFP port that you could put a 2.5Gb or even a 10Gb SFP to ethernet adapter in. I have on in mine. Though LAN ports are limited to 1Gb as is the WAN port.

Really no gaming needs 2.5Gb speeds realistically. But maybe someday.

The announced RS700 has both WAN and LAN 10Gb ports on it.

I'm enjoying a Orbi 960 series with 10Gb WAN and 2.5Gb LAN ports though.

Something to post here about though:

    Good Luck.

  • Good points above, also I think the main blocker is that a lot of people do not have access to those kind of internet speeds. In the UK for example we're only just starting to see speeds higher than 1Gbps and still not as high as 2.5Gbps. When there is a big shift I imagine NG will make one, either way it's entirely up to them and they won't announce anything until ready.
