Geo-filter question xr1000

I have an XR1000 and my question is ping supported for feo filtering on console?
I have set on and when I’m on the geo filtering screen it shows the people and servers. It gives me the option to allow or deny but it seems as tho it still struggles to get the correct ping (around 40ms). The ping more often than not shoots up to over 100ms. So just wondering is this normal? Or am I doing something wrong? All settings on router are basically factory and I didn’t change anything. I have ad blocker on and ipv6 on as well. That’s the only settings I have changed. Thanks!

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Nighthawk Pro Gaming Routers - NETGEAR Communities

Gaming routers have their own DumaOS operating system that is nothing like the one on Netgear's standard routers.

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

  • Ping Assist is an assist feature of the Geo-Filter so it's not a hard limit, if you're wanting servers under a specific value I would suggest using the radius instead with Ping Assist to 0 to ensure you get low ping servers.

Ok makes sense. Ok so the last question is are all games support for geo filtering? I only play PUBG and that’s the game where it’s difficult to get low ping servers.

Pretty much, some will work straight away, some may need some servers to be allowed, others we'd need to work on it specifically and very few are unable to be filtered at all. Try the radius only and see if that works better for you.
