Help! Xbox not connecting to friends party

I cannot connect to my friends party with my Netgear XR500. I have my Xbox on energy Saving mode and my router is updated.
Netgear needs to fix this! Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Are you using the Geo-Filter? If so:

    • Set Geo-Filter to Spectating Mode
    • Turn off Auto Ping Host
    • Join the party with your friends
    • Click on your friends on the map, name them and press ALLOW

Now when you use the Geo-Filter, they should be allowed through.

Is there any other options? I can't even connect to them after disconnecting geo filter and auto ping. So frustrating.

If you can't connect to them with the Geo-Filter disabled then this points to a potential NAT issue. What is your NAT Type shown in the console network settings?

Nothing pops op on the map because I can't even connect to them. All I see is the blank geo filter.

The XR500 would have to be connected to a router/modem, do you know what model it is? The Geo-Filter is disabled that's fine which is why it is blank, just meant the Xbox error so thanks for that. Can you put the Xbox IP address in the XR500 DMZ in WAN Settings please and see if that resolves it.
