Hybrid VPN Torguard on Nighthawk xr500

Hello. Trying to figure out this “feature” of my router. Too many issues with it to even begin really. Has anyone gotten the Hybrid VPN to work? I’ve uploaded the connection config and applied it to certain traffic on certain devices (devices listed in the ridiculous Device Manager) and it doesn’t even remotely begin to work… Anyone any luck? Thanks.

I can’t. All my systems go nuts if that’s enabled so it’s not enabled. It said connected, it said only VPN this on that, what more can I say?

To allow me to retest/get screenshot - can you answer these questions? This is the Torguard config generator page - questions - which 'os' should I select? which version of OpenVPN for this router? Thank you!

Ok. Ran a new test to get a screenshot. I have triple checked the protocol and port of the config. I have run countless whatismyip and portchecker.co checks and all show that this config does absolutely nothing in terms of the VPN connection. All checks show my regular WAN IP and that the supplied port (32400) is closed despite it being open on the VPN IP (through Torguard site).

Additionally, this is using the first os and OpenVPN v '2.4 and above'.

        More findings.

I have a feeling I'm missing something here. Upon further testing when I have the mode of the Hybrid VPN set to 'Do not VPN these services' with an advanced setting of xxxxx port for all entries, my public IP *does* change to the VPN IP, however, that xxxxx port which is open on the VPN is closed/stealth with this mode active on the router.

Appreciate it if you can tell me what I'm missing!
