Might give newer FW a try:
Load it up, factory reset and set up from scratch. I might give the Ipv6 setting a try with out the router connected to the ISP modem. See if the setting will persist after enabling it using FireFox browser. If it does, then connect the router to the ISP modem.

Thanks for the info. I will pause this attempt to do a factory reset for a few days. My wife is working from home the next two days and will need the internet and with my luck I will end up breaking something. Been there , done that before.
I understand there is a way to back up settings before factory resetting ? I will have to look in that. I'm sure I can back it up and as long as there is instructions to restore, I'll be all set.
I will reply in a few days with my results.
Thanks

Yes, a factory reset did the trick. I updated the firmware and then reset to factory settings. Restored it without using my backup as most things were already configured and didn't want to take the possibility of having the issue restored. So during the system restore I added security questions which I could not do before as well as a frozen ipv6 change. The first thing I did was go to ipv6 settings and selected the auto configure and it configured as DHCP so it is working now.
Thanks !
