New - XR1000v1 Firmware Version 1.0.0.74 Hot Fix Released

Security Fixes: 06/21/2024

NOTE:  This FW is for Version 1 of the XR1000 gaming router line. This version of FW is NOT compatible with hardware Version 2 of the XR1000 router series product line. The label under the router should display a XR1000 v2 or version 2 text information on the label for a version 2 XR1000. Version 1 XR1000 will not display a version number text on the label.

Firmware Update Instructions:

NOTE: It's recommended to factory reset and setup from scratch after applying this FW update.

NOTE: Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200

Adjust IP range as needed if you have more than 100 devices.

Be sure to make a backup configuration to file after the router as been setup:

Saves time if a factory reset is needed.

This article applies to:

  • After updating and reboot, screen hung on redirect.  After waiting 10mins, I went to the router home address and tried to log back in.  After entering user/pw, the router threw this error:

Tried just turning the router off and back on and got same result.  Decided to factory reset, and I got a partial wizard that allowed me to set things up at least.  Then the redirect threw this error again.

I now cannot get into the router to modify any settings, and apparently factory reset doesn't restore the firmware version.  Been on hold with 24/7 support in queue for over 30 mins now.  I guess at least I have internet access and the wi-fi setup worked so I have that too.  But outside of that I can't set ANYTHING else.  This is thoroughly disappointing!!

Edit: Confirmed I used the correct firmware for my router version.  Attempted login using a private browsing window and no errors.  Something changed in the firmware versions that one of my browser extensions was blocking and wouldn't open in a regular window.  Am able to access all settings now. 😊

So had my XR1000v1 online for 6 days plus and working good:

First speed test thru Connection Benchmark didn't get a good test so 2nd test try did:

Seems like maybe NTP and Time Zone issues maybe fixed on this version of FW:

I set up mine using MS Edge browser after I factory reset mine. Try this browser or Firefox?

Be sure to clear out all browser caches before entering the setup wizard page.

Also try a different PC or laptop.

I might disconnect all other devices from the back of the router accept for the one wired PC while factory resetting the router then setup from scratch.
