Netgear Nighthawk XR1000 Backup only Creates a 23 KB file instead of a correct Backup
Hello There,
I have the following problem. When i backup my DumaOS Settings the "NETGEAR_XR1000.cfg" is only 23 KB big instead of an actual config backup file.
When restoring the file, it only reverts my Router to default settings. I really need help with this because I needed to fully configure everythingtwice now because for some reasons the Router lost its config after reboot.
Thanks a lot

What browser are you using? Happens with other browsers?
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerWhat settings are you changing specifically before trying to create the backup? Are you using Armor?

So I tested my XR1000 out last night, working with it OFF line and just with a wired PC connected.
I'm getting a 25Kb file generated from MS Edge.
I saved off a first config file from prior usage.
Factory reset the router using the ERASE button under Backup.
At the setup wizard where you can select how to setup the router, I chose load config from back up. Selected the file.
Let the router process the file. My settings has the wifi turned OFF and I use 192.168.0.1 for my routers IP and pool.
The router returned normally and was accessible.
I wanted to try this again and made one change with adding some custom DNS instead of Auto Detect, to the Internet section. After the change was applied and router was back to ready, I saved off another backup config to file. Same 25Kb size.
Factory reset the router using the ERASE button under Backup.
At the setup wizard where you can select how to setup the router, I chose load config from back up. Selected the file.
Let the router process the 2nd back up file.
This time I could not get into the routers web page using same log in info.
I noticed that the IP address on my PC was 192.168.1.1 and should have been 192.168.0.1 after the backup was applied.
I cleared the browser cache to be sure that the browser was clear. Still would not log in. I tried default admin and password and didn't work to get in. I had to press the reset button in back for 10 seconds then release to get back to the setup wizard.
I ran out of time and didn't check with the Backup section of the router to see if after a reset and setup from scratch with out letting the setup wizard use the back up file here, use the Backup section under Admin to see if this would show same thing or not. I also didn't try a different browser though default MS Edge should work as I use it normally for other NG routers I have and have used backups on them.
I think there is something going on here with backup files and use of them on the XR1000. Seems that the router isn't processing them correctly maybe.
