Netgear XR300 Wireless WAN

Hi,

I bought a XR300 pro router and i wonder what i must do to put it into Wireless WAN mode, that is to say i want it to connect to an allready existing WLAN and use the existing WLAN as WAN port.

You're wanting to connect it to an already pre-existing wireless network?

That'd either need wisp mode or repeater/extender mode. Neither of which the xr300 has.

      Hi plemans,

Well ok, that certainly takes the "PRO" out of this router, piece of s**t.

Guess i will have to flash it with xxxWRT or somting so that it becomes usable.

But thanx for the quick answer!

      R.

You can hardwire it into a network.

Not sure why you think its junk. Its a Pro Gaming router.

Its designed to reduce latency/ping times.

Looks like someone should have done more research on these gaming routers before they bought it.

  • The point of the router is to get you the best connection possible so by using WiFi to get the router internet would be going against that
