Nighthawk XR500 Connection dropping frequently
Hello all,
I currently have a Nighthawk XR500 router and my internet connection drops off randomly when using my laptop or apple TV but it drops maybe every 15-20 minutes when I am on my Xbox. I have tried moving my router to a central location, my firmware is up to date, and have even tried a range extender but nothing is working. I searched google for similar issues and have tried turning off SmartConnect because I figured that was the problem originally but the issues have persisted. I am not the most knowledgeable about wifi and routers so any help would be great.

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerWhat is your physical setup? I.e. what is your XR500 connected to etc and are all devices connected to the XR? Do you see the issue on any other devices? Does it only happen to devices connected to WiFi or those wired also?
My Setup is cable internert. I have a COAX cable > Hitron E31N2V1 Modem > XR500. All of the devices in my home are connected to the XR through Wifi. The problem happens with all devices including laptops, phones, etc. I have tried direct connecting to the XR and the problem continues. I tested my Xbox by plugging directly into the modem last night and everything ran perfectly, no connection issues over the span of 2-3 hours of playing.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerThanks for that information, when you see this happen can you still access the interface? If so go to System Information, what is the connection status? Also in Settings > Monitoring > Connection Status, what does it say for lease obtained/expires?
