Nighthawk xr500 ping spikes when in router mode

Ever since I got this router I felt a difference in my ping when playing LOL as it went higher and unstable ranging between 70 and 80 ms with ping spikes up to 130 ms. I tried several things like rebooting, updating the firmware activating QOS, etc. and the only thing that is fixing my problem now is changing to AP mode instead of router mode, thats when I have a stable 65 ping. I am using cat 6 cables and a CM1000/XR500 combo.

Is there anything else I could try to do before considering changing it for another router?.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?

What router are you using when you put the XR in AP mode?

Are you pinging with a wired connection?

Have you pings with just a wired PC connected to the modem only? Use Pingplotter.com as a test app.

Has a factory reset been performed and setup from scratch since last update and left sliders at 99% and QoS disabled?

Just the CM1000 modem connected to the XR500 connected to the pc with an ethernet cable

      Yes

Yes and that solves the issue

There should be two long slider bar lines in QOS that have upload and download. One is red the other is blue. Little round ball button on the line. You can move this button to the right or left. You can enter in a value like 99 in the box seen to the far right I believe.
