Using WiFi over distance like that most routers are going to struggle, there are settings you can change to improve upon it such as just using 2.4GHz WiFi which would be more stable. If there are lots of devices in your home being used at the same time and you're also connecting to far away servers then yes it would definitely help. There is also the option of using powerline adapters as well as mentioned above but they aren't as stable as a direct ethernet connection.
