RAX120 with CM1200
Decided to upgrade my Orbi CBR40 to a RAX120 + CM1200.
Got the CM1200 set up, registered and working with my laptop.
I followed the directions ( re: powercycling the CM1200 and moving the cable from my workstation to the Internet port of the RAX120).
RAX120 can't establish an internet connection through the CM1200.
I have tried using the Setups through both the Nighthawk app and directly connected to the RAX120. It checks that the cables are connected ok, which they are. But then fails on connecting to the Internet.
I reconnect my laptop to the CM1200... still good. Reconnect the RAX120... still no good.
I look at the Admin tools... RAX120 is not resolving an IP address. Try releasing and renewing, still nothing. Rebooting repeatedly. Power both off, restart CM1200, wait 3 minutes, restart RAX120... still no good. Reverse the process... still no good.
Any ideas what is going on?
ISP is Spectrum. Reconnected Orbi... works fine.
No. I wasn't trying to use Link or WAN aggregation... just a direct Cat5E connection between the RAX120 Internet/WAN port and the top Ethernet port of my CM1200. No other ports on the CM1200 were in use.
When using the Nighthawk app, the setup process would verify that the cables were hooked up correctly, but would fail when connecting to the Internet.
I hesitantly filed a case # with Netgear, which in hindsight, I should not have been hesitant about. I immediately got a response saying I should call in ASAP. I did and after 1 hour of debugging with the tech, he determined that it was a faulty device. He then gave me a case # for the return, and suggested I return the device to the retailer (Best Buy).
Best Buy took it back with no problem and offered me a full refund or an exchange. I took the exchange. Returned home with a new RAX120 and 20 minutes later, it was set up. Working flawlessly now.
The CM1200/RAX120 setup is replacing my ORBI CBR40 setup. Both cable speeds and wifi speeds have significantly improved.

Are you trying to use link aggregation? If so, disable it. It hasn't been known to work the best.
Do you have anything else plugged into the CM1200? It has more ports but you can only use 1 of them (unless you have link aggregation) through charter home service. Business is a little different.
