VPN not holding devices on XR500
Hi so I have purchased PUREVPN & Express VPN as I thought it would be the VPN however my VPN connects on my Hybrid VPN section however when I go to add a device and then change the mode to only VPN these services.. I then check my IP still showing my broadband providers IP.. so then I select another heading device manager or QOS then I go back to Hybrid VPN and the added device has gone.. its not saving the devices..
any help and support would be appreciated.. I am on version XR500 v2.3.2.134 I have also factory reset my router on this update..
Thanks
Kevin

- That_GamerYTApprentice“Only VPN these services” means you have you to manually add everything that you want to be VPN’d and by default, assuming you added nothing, it’s basically VPNing nothing which might also explain why the device disappears since the router thinks you’re basically not VPNing anything so there’s no need to have the device there. To solve both issues, change it to “Do not VPN these services” because this means that you have to add everything you don’t want VPN’d, and by default, if you leave it blank, it won’t not VPN anything which means it will VPN everything on the network. If you want to use “Only VPN these services”, then make sure to add at least one service right away so the router doesn’t get rid of the device.

Thanks for the above comment.. I done as suggested but its not picking up the VPN as my location is still showing my providers IP.. I have cached everything..
I will reset my router see if it picks up the new VPN..
appreciate the comment and it was very helpful and the device stayed..
Cheers

It shouldn't require a reset, but let us know how you get on with it afterwards.
Where are you checking your location? Are you using a particular website? Make sure you clear cache/lookup the location from an incognito window.
