Why does my XR500 Router have not Wi-Fi signal?

I just installed my XR500 Router and I couldn't detect the Wi-Fi signal. The status of the router is below. All the LEDs worked well and Wi-Fi switch is on. I have tried several attempts of reset, but still not working. Can somebody help me with that?

For a start from the Internet LED it looks like you don't have an Internet connection on that router. Even so, the wifi should still be there.

What are you using to detect the wifi?

Then the usual boilerplate questions to eliminate some of the more common issues that crop up here.

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". There may be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware with an app or in the browser interface.

If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that connects this router to the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Nighthawk Pro Gaming Routers - NETGEAR Communities

Gaming routers have their own DumaOS operating system that is nothing like the one on Netgear's standard routers. There is also a dedicated and capable support team.

You might like to search there for messages related to your issue.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. Well, both my laptop and iPhone cannot find the Wi-Fi signal. I also used the app to help me connect to the router, but it also failed because of the undetected signal.

Since I can't connect the router with Nighthawk app or the browser interface, I'm then not sure what version the firmware is. Is there any way to update the firmware without the app or browser interface?

The router is connected to the CAT 6 port of the apartment, which has no problem I think.

I'd also look into previous cases that may help. Thank you again for your support.

That makes it hard to diagnose your Internet connection. Those apartment networks may feed off of a router somewhere in the basement. So the usual modem settings may not work. You have to ask the landlord how to connect to that network.

That doesn't account for the absence of any wifi signal. You should see the SSID network and default password on the label on the bottom of the router.

You said that you have made several attempts to reset the router. Is this what you did?
