Wireless won't connect to internet

Brand new RAX120 — Nighthawk AX12 wont connect to the interned. It shows a strong signal, but no conctivity on WiFi or ethernet. What gives?

    What modem are you connecting to? 

    What  firmware is on the router?

      NETGEAR - Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Voice Cable Modem, Voice support and the the firmwaer wasupdated today (sorry I don't have the v. off hand)

        After a final attempt to get this router to work, I am giving up. The Netgear phone support told me the gear was defective so I am going with that and returning it to Best Buy while I still can. I noted to the tech on the phone the I had an error message on my iMac stating that two devices on my network had the same IP. That turned out to be my iPhone and the router itself. This info did not raise a concern from him, so I let that go. I have doubts that the gear is broken, but at this point I have no choice but to return/exchange it. I will updat here the results if and when I can attempt to install the replacement router. I just hope I wont waste another 4 days of time or money in the process.
