XR1000 - No longer password protected
Woke up this morning to find that our router to the house is no longer secure. Both connection points are now unprotected and I can't access the routerlogin "404 not found"
What should I do? I've download the firmware update but not sure how to install it and thinking of trying a factory reset for the modem but not sure if that would fix the issue... Would be nice if I had known that customer support was complimentary as it has expired and I don't want to pay for a new support tag.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.Does the modem have a built in router and wifi as well?
Yes, Factory reset and setup from scratch maybe needed on everything.

Ok so this router is directly connected to our houses NBN box as we're in Australia. The cable in use is the one it came with out of the box though i do have a Cat6 cable one on hand i can swap with.
I am not sure how to find the info you asked for.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
There should be markings or a sticker on the NBN box giving model and branding information.

If you can there will be a point there where it will check for and download/install the latest firmware.
