XR1000 MetroNet

Has anyone by chance successfully got their XR1000 to work with MetroNet? I currently have the 2gbps fiber. In order for me to get it to work I have to set it to either bridge mode or wireless AP connected through the Eeros Pro 6e. I have to use their provided modem which is the Nokia XS-010X-Q ONT.

Is this router even capable of working with that modem or do I need to upgrade to a newer router?

  • Do you know if you require PPPoE, VLAN or DHCP identifiers to get a connection? If you're not sure check the Eero internet settings. If you do you'll need to put those in the XR before you can get internet. Otherwise you may just need to reboot the Nokia, wait 2 minutes, reboot the XR, wait 2 minutes then check.

Also the XR1000 isn't supporting of 2Gb ISP speed due to the WAN and LAN ports being 1000Mbps max capable.

If you want to see anything near 2Gb, you'll need a different router.

Netgears Orbi 9 series and the upcoming RS700 both have 10Gb WAN ports. Orbi has 2.5Gb LAN port and the RS is reported to have 10Gb LAN ports.
