Are you looking for help with an XR1000?
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Nighthawk Pro Gaming Routers - NETGEAR Communities
Gaming routers have their own DumaOS operating system that is nothing like the one on Netgear's standard routers. It also has an excellent support team.
You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message. - FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Is that your ISP modem? the CM2000?
What FW is loaded on the XR router?
How is the router configured?
Is the game console wireless or wire connected to the router? Wired is preferred.

The CM2000 is my modem.
what is FW?
the router is on the factory default settings except QOS
it is connected wirelessly

FW = Firmware Version

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerBy turned on Open NAT type do you mean you have set NAT to Open in WAN Settings? Are you using the Geo-Filter when testing the NAT type? - If so disable it, does it show Open then?

yes but I have changed it back to secure
I don't have geo-filtering on

OK, could you leave that set to open, as that will help.
Do you know if you're using IPv6? If so could you test disabling it temporarily from the XR1000 interface advanced settings. Then check if you're having the same issue on the Xbox.
