XR1000v2 running V1.1.0.22

Having purchased a new XR100v2 pro gaming WiFi router to replace my aging D7000 router.

I find that having set under LAN the DHCP to allocate IP address to allocated MAC number the router does not allocate the correct IP address to the correct MAC number, plus when setting the IP tp MAC the device name typed in is ignored and the IP address is repeated and once you view under settings / devices several devices are showing that are not set in the list.

In my old Netgear router the list was known as access control and no other devices could obtain access to the router except the devices in the list

Is this issue a common problem or am I doing something Wrong

thanks

  • Are you referring to making reserved IP addresses for devices, those IPs aren't applying to the devices you've set? If a device has been connected via both ethernet and WiFi at some point they will have a different MAC address for each connection so you'd have to set an IP address for each. The names in the Settings for devices won't coincide with the names on the Device Manager, that is a known issue.

Access control is a feature NG removed awhile ago.
