XR1000v2 running V1.1.0.22

Hi our home network was working well around 09:00 we all went out, on returning we had no WIFI signal, but use devices attached by CT5, no strange entries in the log, so we restarted the router, WIFI returned but none of our phones to connect to the WIFI until we entered the SID and the password. then everything was back to normal as our warranty expires soon we are unsure if this a sign of the router needing replacement. as our phones do not usually forget the WIFI systems we have attached to in the past we have even tried today to see if the phones still auto contact to the local coffee shop which they did fine so it does look like an issue with the router it is running version V1.1.0.22 hotfix firmware which was first install 9 months ago

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

How many devices are connected to the router?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

    What is CT5?

The router is connected to a GIGACLEAR fibre connection via there own Grandstream box.

There was no issue with connecting to the web using a PC connected via CAT5 cable, and there was also no issue viewing the setup of the router using the same PC or viewing the LOG which showed nothing out of usual the log did show the connecting of the PC and allocating its IP address, nothing was showing about the Phones trying to obtain access either by allocating an IP address or showing that it would not give an IP address to them.

Both the 2.4 and the 5 WiFis are set the the same names and the 5 is set on channel 44 and the 2 is set to auto with Enable 20/40 MHz Coexistence ticked.

The last Firmware update was performed nearly a year a go and the device was factory reset then and the configuration was typed in and has worked for since then.

There are three CAT5 devices one Pc one laptop and one access point, which goes to the other end of the house

CT5 was my miss type meaning CAT5 cable.

  • Have you changed the WiFi credentials from their defaults? If you haven't, when you had to re-enter them was it the default credentials or the ones you set that worked?

The WiFi access  is nothing like the defaults as we have a long SID and a even longer Password as in the past we did find people were attaching to the router but never found out who but the WiFi now is hard to type in even with it written in front of me. and we also have a access control list which holds each of our MAC numbers. and when we checked the router via the cat 5 connected PC, the WIFI setting were still as our written notes and I am not even sure we have a note of the default WiFi . once the router had been checked via the PC we then rebooted the router from the menu we were still unable to connect the WiFi devices until we reentered the SD and password, after that everything appears fine again.
