XR300 Gaming router
The XR300 currently piggybacks off another router which is configured as a bridge and connected to the modem. I want to remove that router and connect the XR300 directly to the modem.
My problem is that I cannot get to the XR300 UI from a web browser and take a snapshot of the current configuration. I want to do this in case something goes wrong so I can restore the XR300 to its previous configuration. I can see the XR300 as a device connected to the other router, but if I use the IP address in the browser's address bar the request times out even though I can ping the address.
I've tried taking a backup by disconnecting the router and connecting a laptop to it. I get the netgear UI, but if I chose manual set up, it demands I change the admin password. But I don't want to change anything before I take a configuration snapshot.
Ideas?

I've frequently seen where people are on different subnets and so can't access certain devices.
If the xr300 is in router mode, disconnect it from its current modem (and disconnect the other devices connected).
reboot it and then connect a pc/laptop to it. then see what IP address you get from it and try access it with that.
or using the routerlogin . com- peterhugTutorThe XR300 is connected to a Huawei router (LAN port to LAN port). The XR300 routers IP address in this configuration is 192.168.1.66/24. The Huawei routers address is 192.168.1.254/24. Using a web browser, I can access the Huawei router UI from a laptop connected to a LAN port on the Huawei router, but accessing the XR300 UI times out. If I plug in the laptop on a LAN port on the XR300, it won't connect at all. The same applies if I connect to the XR300 via wifi from my android phone. If I disconnect the XR300 from the Huawei router, the laptop connects and the XR300's IP address changes to 10.0.0.1. The XR300 UI just shows an initial setup screen.
I too think it could be a problem with subnets, but since I can't get to the XR300 UI in the current configuration, I'm in the dark.- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerThe XR300 should be connected to the Huawei from its WAN port not LAN port so Huawei LAN > XR300 WAN that should resolve the issues.
