XR450 Router Having Connection Issues

My XR450 with firmware vertion 2.3.2.56 is having connection issues.  My computer is connected using a eithernet connection and yesterday I was not able to connect to most web sites.  I could connect to google and a few others but in general connections were not working.  I unplugged the router and plugged it back in to do a power reset and then everything worked again.  I could connect to any internet site as usual.

Today I connected to the router and was checking some settings.  The router would not display the Network Monitor screen.  So I power cycled the router again.  All worked fine for a couple of hours.  Now when I log into the router I get a spinning circle with the note: "Error: This R-App is not loaded yet, please try again in a minute."

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do other than purchase a new router and throw this one away.

Thanks

  • For the website issue change your DNS in Internet Setup and see if that helps. For Rapp not loading - go to System Information and in the Rapp panel options change the number of retries to 5 and reboot the router - see if that helps.

I have determined that the Router was overloaded.  A new neighbor moved in near my house and was broadcasting on the 5Mhz freequency using the same channel 157 that I had set a couple of years ago.  I did some research and found out that I could use my Apple Computer to do a scan of all the wireless devices in my neighboor hood.  I found a channel that was not being used by anyone close and set the Router on that channel.  The router is now back to normal and actually works again.

I still wonder why it couldn't handle some wifi interference and went into overload.

      Thanks for answering my question.

Also try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything when you have wifi neighbors hear by. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

        Enjoy,
