XR500 & AC1900 wifi channels

Question

Hello. I am trying to improve performance at home. I have a XR500 as my main router and an AC1900 as a range extender/repeater. The XR500 is connected to my PC via wired connection and I use the DUMA software to make changes. How do I connect to the AC1900 to make changes? I would prefer a wireless solution via my ipad.

I am also looking for advice around broadcast channels. My XR500 is using channel 6. Should my extender use a different channel? the two networks overlap coverage to some extend of course I am trying to set this up the best way I can.

You would have to connect direct to the AC or enable remote management on it if possible. I would suggest choosing different channels also.

I connected to the AC1900 but the selections for channel are grayed out. I can't see a way to change them. Any ideas?

How is the AC setup? Is it using a Smart Connect type feature?
