XR500 and hardware firewall
Just a quick question....
Would I gain anything be installing a hardware firewall (i.e., Bitdefender Box 2) into my network setup? This would be that I would have to put my XR500 into bridge/AP mode which I would then lose the ability to access the router interface and adjust settings.
With all the working from home that we have started to do, I'm wondering if the additional level of security would be worth the trade off in XR500 adjustability.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Thank

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerAll routers have their own Firewall including the XR500 and if you're running the latest firmware then any known vulnerabilities have been fixed. I don't think it would be necessary to do something like that - if you were concerned then make sure you do not use the DMZ, disable remote management if it's been enabled and ensure your WiFi password is long and alphanumeric. Could also consider disabling respond to internet ping in WAN Settings as well. That's just my opinion but if you're concerned then do what makes you feel more at ease.
