XR500 Gaming Router Lag in Game

Hey,

So I just set up this new router with a new modem and I was having large packet loss issues when gaming online.

The issue itself was oringally 10-20% packet loss when gaming off my ps4. Turning my NAT from secure to open fixed that to 0%. However, I'm still getting glitchy delays when in game from ONLY my player. Apex Legends calls it a "Predicition Error" where my character will lag back a few paces every now and then. Mostly seen in Warzone and Apex, strangely not GTA or Halo on Xbox One.

Here's the setup:

- Netgear CM500V with Voice cable modem supports up to 300mb

- Netgear XR500 Pro Gaming Router

- Xfinity 300mbs plan

- Original PS4 Connected on WiFi to 2.4

- Typical DL 150-200mbs

- Typical UL 3-6mbs

Trouble Shooting

- LAN Connection (Didn't fix packet loss, glitching issues)

- Changed NAT from secure to OPEN and fixed blatant packet loss but no glitching issue

- Turned off 20 / 40mhz co-existence

- Geo Filtering set to closest server

- QoS Set to 50% for PS4 (Upload and Donwload)

- UPnP On

Thanks for the help guys!

  • What is the average ping you're getting as shown by the Geo-Filter? Are you using Anti-Bufferbloat and Traffic Prioritization on the QoS page? - Those are the options that will help the most with lag.

I've attached some picture of what i get during a CoD match. This one was peer connected but ping statyed under 50 for the most part.

That is a really good ping, I just checked and it is a server so it's just misclassified as a peer there. What about your QoS settings?
