XR500 vs R7000
I currently own the R7000, been having issues lately with it disconnecting my internet and I have to restart it. Its about 3years old.
So leaning towards buying XR500.
Just trying to figure out if it worth the extra money, compared to the R7000.
I have connected wirelessly 2 xboxone's, 2 laptops, 4 cell phones, 2-3 firesticks(IPTV), I do bittorrents also, then misc items like thermostat, garage door.
thank you

XR500 is an improvement on the hardware, but the main difference is our software, DumaOS, which is very powerful at getting you the best connection in gaming, as well as giving you a lot of control over your network.
You can read more about the XR500 here: https://www.netgear.com/gaming/xr500/
And our software here: https://netduma.com/features/

The XR450 is an option as well if you can't quite afford the XR500. The 450 is the same HW accept for the 2.4Ghz radio connection rate is a bit less than the 500's.

So would the XR450, have better wifi range than the R7000 i own now? With the R7000 once I go out my back porch I loose signal, which is on opposite side of house as to where the router is and approx 50-60ft away through a couple walls.

It's more powerful hardware, so wireless speeds over range should be higher in theory. But that doesn't necessarily guarantee it will be an improvement, it's very environment dependent.

50-60 feet is quiet a ways for any router. The XR series would have better range then the R7000 does. However the additional EX7700 would do nicely as an extender to help with range for the XR450. I use my XR450 upstairs 2nd level on a 5000sq ft home. 40 feet on the opposite end downstairs is my EX7700. Great coverage thoughout the house and some outside.
