XR700 ans Orange FFTH Fiber

Hello

I just buy an XR700 and i try to replace my provider box (Livebox orange) with it

On the XR700 there is a specific configuration for this but it doesn’t work.
In the last month the provider change the DHCP authentication method
Old method hexa DHCP (option 90)
00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

New method hexa DHCP (option 90)
00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:1a:09:00:00:05:58:01:03:41:01:0d:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

I think the current firmware use the oldest DHCP method.
My question : a new firmware with the good configuration is on the road by the Netgear Team ?

Thank you

Regards
Yonijo

  • Hi - is there a reason you are replacing your ISP's box? 99% of the time you should connect your new router to your modem, because the XR500 and XR700 are not modems.

      Hi

Yes you right XR700 and XR500 are not modem but they are router.
The double hop/nat are not optimize for performance

So i prefere to keep my question.

Maybe you know if is it possible to use ssh/telnet with thoses routers ?

      Thks

You're usually able to put the ISP hub into modem mode or put the router into it's DMZ, you will not lose performance this way either and will be much easier than what you are trying to achieve as that option is not available but will pass it on to the Netgear team as a request.
