2.4hz bands
I am not seeing what channels are being used for the 2.4hz band devices in the Orbi app, only 5hz nd 6hz. And is there a benefit to dedicating a set channel versus letting the router select. It seem...

The Orbi 'app' omits much of the detail about the system which can be found easily using the web interface.
Page 22 of the User Manual describes how to log into the web interface:

Page 59 describes the WiFi settings.
Generally, the goal is to use WiFi channels which are the least congested. There is even a feature in the Orbi app called WiFi Analytics which shows how many nearby WiFi systems are using each channel. While one might think, "ah. I can just pick the channel with the fewest systems!" that may be naive. Many WiFi routers are set to "auto", which means they periodically scan the WiFi space and may change the channel. So, today there may be no nearby systems using channel 1, and tomorrow there may be 10.

Thanks, I understand the theory behind the Auto setting, but it always seems to select an "average" or worse band, when other channels are "better" or "best"
