I am not seeing what channels are being used for the 2.4hz band devices in the Orbi app, only 5hz nd 6hz. And is there a benefit to dedicating a set channel versus letting the router select. It seem...

Not if this is a refresh issue ot the app doing another scan and doing other things.
You might shake the mobile device and do a submit bug report thru the app. Take screen captures of what your seeing to submit with the report.

The Orbi Mesh systems ship with a general configuration that works out of the box. Based on your location there may be better channels available due to the network traffic on the existing channels. The best channels are considered to be the best because it has the least network traffic. However, the congestion level of the network channels are subject to change. If you decided choose a specific channel, please be sure to verify it is not congested by verifying the success of the network packet delivery.

That is what I am doing, however the app will not show 2.4hz networks when filtered for that band.
