Need help on Orbi RBR20

May 26, 2025I find the Orbi 'app' (a) not particularly helpful for most things I want to do, and (b) user "unfriendly". In particular, the app loaded on my Android devices (on at least 4 or 5) every once in a while demands that I enter login credentials when it has been happy to open for WEEKS without that input.
At those time, it often suggests credentials that are simply WRONG or no longer applicable. (an email account I quit using years ago, for example. suggests "admin" when an email is needed, etc.)
The Orbi 'app' can require TWO sets of credentials:
- The Netgear login (same as the Community Forum), i.e. an email account plus a password. (Heaven help you if you have enabled 2-factor authentication.), plug
- (sometimes) the web administration credentials, which are "admin" (cannot be changed) and the admin password. This was "password" when the Orbi came out of the box, but during setup people are required to change it to something more "passwordy".

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to be polite. You are perfectly correct.
I have no idea why it needs to be complicated or totally unfriendly.
Let me see, how I come out of it.

Can you get into the RBRs web page log in with a PC and web browser?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did log in with a PC and web browser. It was not of much help.
In the ORBI app I could sign in but it wouldn't allow me to go further and will ask to sign in
with admin credentials and will say it timed out.
I am going to follow the link you provided to see more.
