Orbi 853 not displaying connected devices

New RBK853 installed and working. Don’t understand why it doesn’t want to show most of the wired connection devices in the app. I had deleted some devices that I converted from wireless to wired connection thinking the Orbi would rescan and show the new connections. Everything works and all are connecting to the internet but the Orbi device list and satellite maps don’t show or update the wired connections. Really strange. Any ideas? Thanks!!

    2. what firmware is on the router and the satelilites?

    3. does it display properly if you log in through the browser?

I have done a total reset of Omni 853. It shows most of the devices attached to one satellite but none of the 4 devices direct wired on the other satellite.
      Omni 850 Firmware V4.6.14.3

      Netgear cable modem CM2000

Have not tried using browser yet.

Ok just used browser and it shows the same attached devices as the app does.
Guess it isn’t a problem as everything works and all devices can access the internet but weird the device listing is so screwed up.

    Hi Petie53 ,

What wired devices that can't show on GUI/App ?

How satellite connect to base, via wireless or wired ?

What firmware version do you use ?

    Thanks

  • Firmware V4.6.14.3

    Satellites connected wireless to router.

    Modem is a new CM2000.

Devices with wired connection recognition problem

    Denon AVR-8500H

    Panasonic UB-9000

    Roku Ultra

    Pioneer VSX-45

Devices don’t update on router list even when actively using internet for several hours.

All devices are working fine wired or wireless to internet so happy with that.

    Thanks! Pete

There are several devices with wired connection that are shown on the app.

      Panasonic UB820

      Sony 950G

      Sony 900F

    On router mode

    Firmware: V4.6.14.3

Same here on Orbi 753. Wired devices connected to Satellite do not show up on Orbi App or on web admin. Reinstall and configuration from zero doesn’t seem to fix the problem… wired devices still have network access.

    Any ideas?

  • I am experiencing the exact same problem after updating firmware to 4.6.14.3
Wired devices to satellites aren’t discovered anywhere (app, web router or satellite) if the satellite is connected wireless.
However if I wire the satellite the wired devices appear.
Come on netgear, I have had enough of these things with other netgear products and hoped to get rid of it with the orbi 853
My first firmware upgrade and we are back 😬😬

Looking back I can find similar complaints going back about 2 years now. Seems like NETGEAR has no interest in resolving this. Sad. Really like their hardware but the app and also connecting with a browser is near worthless.

Have noticed with the 3 piece 853 that doing a reboot using the app doesn’t work most times. Have to go to each device and pull the power cord for 15 seconds to get them to restart properly. Never had that issue with my old RBK50 system.

I have the same problem. No wired devices - and I have 4 connected to my 850 satellite - are showing up in the list, neither on when connectiing to the router over the web nor in the app.
