The ORBI is an RBK50 and the firmware is 2.7.5.6.
SOLVED! I went deeper into the phone and found that I had recently set a private DNS server dns.adguard.com to reduce the number of ads getting to my phone. I removed this and then was able to get back to ORBI on my phone! Thanks, all! Is there a way to use this private server for this ad avoidance and still get ORBI to work? If not, I'll settle for the ads...

the apps have to "phone home" to work or you get the "no internet connection" problem with the app. I ran into this issue running my unbound dns instance. Netgear gave me this list to whitelist:

Or you can simply using the browser and log in that route. It still works fine and has more details.
BTW, if you like dns.adgaurd, check into a pihole. Its a fun little ad blocking hardware that isn't to expensive (and can be ran in docker if you already have a server). Works great and has a ton more customizations.
