The LAN IP address range on the host router is set to 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.254

Ok so ya, if your connected behind the RBR, then 192.168.1.2 should work to connect to it's web page.
Something to try, if you can get back in, set a static IP address configuration on the RBR for AP mode, I set mine to 192.168.1.85 here. Using similar host IP address range as well. I can always access the RBR in AP mode at that address.
