What is the size in sq feet of this large home?
Building material of the home?
Basement is not recommended for the main router unit. Main level or 2nd level is recommended.
30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

I have a 5000 sq ft home and run two RBS. Works well.
MESH tends to be better than extenders as the satellites integrate with the router unit and offer backhaul support, wireless or ethernet.

Would a mesh WiFi system generally be a better solution than adding WiFi extenders or additional access points?
I’d also be interested in hearing how others have handled WiFi dead zones and maintained reliable coverage across multiple floors.
