Adding Nighthawk RAX80 as Access Point to Orbi 960 Setup
I recently purchased an Orbi 960 3-pack and have it setup. Quite pleased with its performance and stability.
That said, I have a remote lower level where the I'd like to add an Access Point for improved WiFi strength.
Can a Netgear Nighthawk RAX-80 be added as an ethernet connected Access Point without adversely affecting the Orbi setup.

How big is your home?
Ensure the RBS and RAX is place far apart from each other. 30 feet would be starting distance.
Ya if you use far apart channels between the Orbi system and RAX.
However the more noise you have in the home can cause problems.

The house size (although very large) is probably not the main issue. My need is to extend the coverage to include WiFi to a far corner of the property. I can get ethernet cabling into place and then setup a unique channel/SSID via the Access Point.
By the way... a most interesting video that you included...
That should work pretty solid then for what you're trying to accomplish.
You don't need to have the RAX and the RBKE separated by any distance. You just need to make sure they're using different wifi channels to prevent interference. I'd also have them using a different ssid so your devices roam properly on the ORbi system.
There are quite a bit cheaper AP's out there than the RAX if you're just needing if for a small low bandwidth area. I've seen some of the WAX access points go for that $40-75 when on sale (not on the netgear site)

Thanks very much for your quick feedback.
The reason for my mentioning the RAX80 is that I have one from a previous installation and thought it might make for a good solution.
Your suggestion for using a different channels / SSID makes sense.
Thanks again.
