Additional RBS 750 satellite won't connect to RBR 750 Router
I have an existing RBR 750 router with 2 satellites connected to it for about 4 years now, the system is up to date with its firmware and updates. I bought a standalone satellite to connect to the ro...

Gents,
Thanks so much for the assist. Talk about Netgear creating a nightmare to add additional equipment after the fact if the firmware doesn't match.
The original means of trying to do it with the static IP address all initially failed. I ended up doing the following.
- Plugging it directly back into the original router.
Find it on the attached devices, take its IP address, and input
it into the browser.- It took me to the satellite's standalone Orbi webpage, where I was able to manually update the firmware
- Once all of that was done and a power cycle, it showed up as a satellite and then was able to add it to the router network finally.
Appreciate all the help with this!

This situation that Netgear created where a router will not recognize a satellite unless it is running exactly the same version of firmware is quite frustrating.
In addition, there is conflicting information about what IP address a satellite will assume when it is factory reset and not connected to a router.
The article cited above says that the satellite will assume 192.168.10.250, which implies that the computer should be set to a static IP address in the 192.168.10.x subnet.
However the User Manual clearly states that the satellite address will be 192.168.1.250, which implies that the computer should be set to a static IP in the 192.168.1.x subnet
(see page 130: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBK752/RBK752_UM_EN.pdf
So, is the User Manual simply incorrect? Was the User Manual correct at one time, and was not updated when Netgear changed from "1" to "10"?
It would be helpful if you could "not give up too soon." If trying one static IP address fails, please try the other. It is quite a chore to set up this exercise since both the computer and the satellite must be connected only to each other. and then after the effort, the PC has to be changed back to the regular DHCP method of getting an IP address.
