Currently running the latest firmware per the Orbi app (v7.2.715). The wifi network from my Orbi router will go out for 30 mins to several hours a couple times a week. This started happening a couple months ago after flawless connectivity for almost two years. I have AT&T fiber, and the gateway shows an internet connection during these outages. The settings on my fiber modem/gateway have not changed since I started using my Orbi , and my Philips Hue bridge, which is connected to my Orbi router via ethernet, works fine during these wifi outages. Any ideas on what could be the problem? The connection resolves itself most of the time, but I've had to occasionally power cycle the router when I don't feel like waiting.RBS350 Satellite loses connection to router
In our two story home, I have a RBR350 router downstairs and a RBS350 Satellite upstairs. Upstairs I have a Playstation 5 connected to the router via a LAN cable. While I know I could connect the Playstation via the Wifi Network, I find this gives me the best download/upload times. My problem is that the RBS350 Satellite seems to randomly lose the connection to the router. This is most annoying when I am gaming online and suddenly the message appears "LAN cable not connected" The satellite light is blinking white and usually the connection is restored in a couple of minutes. There is no pattern to this, it sometime happens multiple times a day and then is okay for weeks. I have reset and reconnected both the Router and the SAtellite, but the problem still persists. Any suggestions?Orbi RBR750P Wi-Fi Drops
I bought a new RBR750P with one satellite in April 2025. It's been problematic from the outset, insofar as I am getting random wi-fi drops. Meaning: the SSID disappears from the list of available networks multiple devices (e.g. my MacBook and iPad) connected to that SSID lose their wi-fi connection all SSIDs are lost e.g. the main network and the guest network neither the router or satellite are allowing connections the device is still powered on, and my knowledge never lost power after a few minutes the network will come back up, but in spite of having "auto-join" selected, I have to manually reconnect from my MacBook and iPad it happens randomly, maybe every couple of days, plus or minus 1 Some other data points: the router is plugged into the little network closet in the laundry room router is less than 20 feet away from my MacBook and iPad this is not a matter of weak signal -- there is no wifi to connect to at any strength satellite is upstairs, but it shouldn't matter because there is no SSID at all house is 4000 sq ft, but it shouldn't matter when my devices are 20 feet from the router I do have Armor, and yes it is enabled, and no I don't plan on disabling it--I'm paying an incremental subscription cost for this and I want the functionality I've paid for I usually have 20-25 devices connected, on a combination of router & satellite connection--almost all of those are very low traffic--thermostats, fridge, water leak detector, etc. It's really aggravating. I expect network to be solid as a rock. My attitude right now is that of General McKittrick in WarGames: "After careful consideration I've determined that your newfangled system sucks". Is anyone else experiencing this?Initial Set-up Questions
I just reset my RBR850 router and am now re-setting everything. But like the first time I did this I see all the options to choose from and not the knowledge to pick. For example, under the Basic tab and Internet Setup sub-tab I'm presented with the following screen. Without being a networking guru, how do I make the correct selections? The same question applies to the other setup sub-tabs. Another example, what type of security should I use for my Guest network? Is there a manual to help. Thanks.SolvedBasically it randomly is unable to “ping” the server
I am having the exact same issues that bodger47 is having. Basically it randomly is unable to “ping” the server. I’ve done a hard reset on my system to original default settings. Re-installed my orbi system only to experience the same issues. I have a cheap tp-link router also connected to my provider and there are no issues with that router. It’s very frustrating to say the least. What makes it even worse, is netgear doesn’t have a product upgrade program. I would just upgrade my system right now to rid myself of this problem if I got like 50% off a new system with the return/upgrade of my current system.Loss of connection between satellites
I am currently running the Orbi wifi 6/6E system, with a router unit and satellite. I have noticed a consistent problem of maintaining the paired connection between devices, based on proximity to satellites. Examples: -I use a Sonos system, with a series of different speakers throughout the house. When paired to one of the speakers/port units near one satellite, it will not allow connection to any units near the other satellite. -When using the Apple Remote app on an IOS device/phone, the app will not connect to any Apple TV that is not close to the same satellite the phone is paired to. The app will work, effectively, only on devices near the same satellite the phone is connected to, and the other Apple TV's simply won't appear on the network until the phone is moved close enough to the other satellite. In addition, there is a physical location, roughly midway between the two satellites, upon which the wireless will drop out, then reconnect. It is effectively like the mesh system is not acting like a mesh, but two semi-independent access points. Make controlling Apple TVs inconvenient and using Sonos is extremely hit or miss. As an FYI, I previously was running the Orbi Wifi 5 with three satellites to try to bridge the gap; the problem was the same both ways. Thanks in advance.Sub network with an Orbi RBS350
Hello All, I'd need to benefit from your knowledge and experience for my project with a RBS350: i have a house with the WiFi router from my ISP, which bring a good coverage For another house in the same property that i occasionnally rent, i use the RBS350 to extend the coverage. The Orbi is conencted to the Router in WiFi and it globally works Is it possible to create 2 distinct networks sharing the same internet access, with a 'sub network' on the orbi containing only the 2nd house devices (guests computers, speakers, TV, guest internet... ), while the devices in the 'main' house are connected only on the ISP router ? Many thanks for your support and expertise,Help, I can't enter the system interface after changing the SXS80 model to RBS850
I changed the SXS80 model to RBS850 in Telnet, and wanted to flash the RBS850 firmware, but the firmware failed to pass the verification and could not be flashed. The current problem is that the machine can run normally and can be used normally after connecting to the upper-level router, but the system management interface cannot be displayed, that is, there is no way to turn on the Telnet option and change back to the SXS80 model. Currently, all firmware versions of SXK80 have no restrictions on turning on Telnet. You only need to enter the /debug.html page and check it, but I can't enter it now. I hope everyone can help me and teach me how to force Telnet to open. Thank you.Outdoor wifi access point needed compatible with existing indoor RBR750
I currently have the Orbi 750 (I believe it's the RBR750) wifi 6 system with 1 router and 2 satellites throughout my house. It works pretty well but we need to get a stronger signal in our backyard for entertainment and streaming by our pool. Are there any compatible Orbi outdoor satellites/access points that would work with my existing setup? I see the RBS50Y satellite but it claims to only work with the following.... Orbi Mode (as Orbi Satellite): Works with RBR10, RBR20, RBR40, RBR50, CBR40, LBR1020, LBR20, SRR60 Any help with my situation would be greatly appreciated!RBR850 Strange behaviour following restart
I restarted my orbi RBR850 and two satellites yesterday morning when I noticed there was no internet. The system came up and office machine connected (it is wired to the back of the orbi router). A speed check on the office machine gave 650MB. The app showed no satellites and although they reconnect, and show blue before turning the light off, they are not seen in the orbi app and don't seem to be doing anything. The wifi comes and goes randomly on our phones and when it is available speed tests to just 44MB - even if standing right next to the router. The orbi app shows no satellites connected and the orbi login shows no satellites connected. It spends an age trying to connect to the router. I'm on 7.2.7.15_5.1.16. I manually upgraded to this even though it is what was showing. Is the router broken?
