Is anyone else having issues downloading.85 firmware from the the Netgear site for the 950 series? The 960 firmware downloads just fine but the 950 just gives a script error when trying to download it. Also webgui and app says I’m up to date currently on .82 firmwareRBRE960 DHCP issue?
I have an RBRE960 with three RBSE960 units. Two are wired, and one is connected wirelessly. I’m experiencing major issues with my devices losing connection to the network. My iPhone suddenly drops the connection and gets a 169.254 address. The same happens with my Apple TV, Mac, etc. To fix it, I have to forget the network on the device and reconnect. I have the latest firmware installed, v7.2.7.15. What could be causing this, and how can I resolve it? Thanks in advance!IPV6 no connection RBR 850
I called my ISP and they confirmed I have an ipv6 connection available from them on a fiberoptic connection to my Orbi RBR 850 which will not transmit ipv6 to my network and when I run an online ipv6 test it confirms not connected. RBR 850 firmware v7.2.7.15, I just read on the netgear site this firmware is a problem for ipv6 and to set back the firmware to a previous version. I have checked my router settings many times in the advance ipv6 settings, currently set to DHCP any thoughts from anyone who has experienced problems with ipv6 connection issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Orbi RBR750P Wi-Fi Drops
I bought a new RBR750P with one satellite in April 2025. It's been problematic from the outset, insofar as I am getting random wi-fi drops. Meaning: the SSID disappears from the list of available networks multiple devices (e.g. my MacBook and iPad) connected to that SSID lose their wi-fi connection all SSIDs are lost e.g. the main network and the guest network neither the router or satellite are allowing connections the device is still powered on, and my knowledge never lost power after a few minutes the network will come back up, but in spite of having "auto-join" selected, I have to manually reconnect from my MacBook and iPad it happens randomly, maybe every couple of days, plus or minus 1 Some other data points: the router is plugged into the little network closet in the laundry room router is less than 20 feet away from my MacBook and iPad this is not a matter of weak signal -- there is no wifi to connect to at any strength satellite is upstairs, but it shouldn't matter because there is no SSID at all house is 4000 sq ft, but it shouldn't matter when my devices are 20 feet from the router I do have Armor, and yes it is enabled, and no I don't plan on disabling it--I'm paying an incremental subscription cost for this and I want the functionality I've paid for I usually have 20-25 devices connected, on a combination of router & satellite connection--almost all of those are very low traffic--thermostats, fridge, water leak detector, etc. It's really aggravating. I expect network to be solid as a rock. My attitude right now is that of General McKittrick in WarGames: "After careful consideration I've determined that your newfangled system sucks". Is anyone else experiencing this?SolvedIs v7.2.7.15 stable?
Hey guys, I have an Orbi rbr 750 with two rbs750’s spaced out not too far. This has been happening for a while now but depending on the software version it becomes unstable. Constant disconnects then reconnects. And by the looks of it v7.2.7.15 looks unstable. It’s started again. Does anyone know a stable version I can use? kind regards,How To Update Sat FW BEFORE Adding
I have an RBRE +2 RBSE Satellites. I'm trying to add a third RBSE satellite with no luck. I can't find any information on how to make sure its firmware is up to date without it already being part of the network, and if it was already part of the network, this wouldn't be an issue. The best advice I've seen is to roll back the firmware on the RBRE to match what's on the RBSE, but I have no idea what FW is currently on the RBSE. How do I either update the firmware or find out what firmware it has?RBR750 Throttling WiFi to 100mbps on Gigabit Connection
I hope someone can provide some insight. I currently have an Orbi mesh system set up in my house. One RBR750 router, and 3 RBS750 satellites. The RBR750 is connected to a Nokia XS-2426X-A gigabit router (verified set up in bridge mode by internet provider) via a LiteWave LS108GP switch. All cables from the modem to the switch and the switch to the router are Cat 5. Here is my problem: the two desktop computers hard-wired to the switch continually enjoy +/- 960mbps connections without interruption. The Orbi, however, continually throttles the WiFi speed down to 100mbps. At first we thought it was an issue with the Nokia modem not being in bridge mode, but through a series of trial and error, we know we can restore the full 960mbps WiFi speed by rebooting the Orbi router only. We can leave the modem powered up, as well as the switch, and just reboot the Orbi, and the WiFi speeds go back to “normal”(at least for awhile), so we don’t think it’s a bridge mode issue. Any thoughts or suggestions?Setup advice...
I have an RBR750 with 4 RBS350s. I want the DHCP to come from our firewall/router. I created a pool on the Firewall for WiFi and some access policies. My questions are: 1. When I connect the RBR750 to the firewall, do I use the Internet port on the ORBI or one of the LAN ports? I guess this would be AP mode rather than Router mode? 2. Once I pair the RBS350 with the RBR750, is there any management done on the 350? or is everything done on the 750? 3. On SonicWave APs, you can broadcast different SSIDs that are connected to different VLANs on the same physical port on the SonicWall. Is this possible on the setup I have or would I just setup 2 different systems and connect to different ports on the Firewall?RBR850 loses management access after power outage
After a power outage my RBR850 loses the management access. The Internet still works - all devices are connected and working and I can remotely access household published services from the Internet. I can’t access the router console via the app or a web browser. It has its IP address and can be pinged but it isn’t publishing a http port 80. Last time this happened I had to factory reset and restore the backed up config. Has anyone else seen this behaviour? The router is connected to an NBN modem in bridge mode, and has one satellite which also works fine after the power outage.RBR850 issued 705k DNS queries in 7 days from Netgear specific domains
I recently subscribed to and setup NextDNS service to replace my two Ethernet-wired Pi-Hole Servers that can no longer successfully resolve DNS on my Netgear Orbi RBR850 network. In my NextDNS Profile/Analytics page is see that this apparently Netgear-related service - urldb.meetcircle-netgear.co - has queried the NextDNS servers 369,462 times in the past seven days. A second apparently Netgear-related service - 'vc02.meetcircle-netgear.co' has queried the NextDNS servers 26,670 time in the past seven days. A third apparently Netgear-related service 'netgear-devrecog.fing.io' has queried the NextDNS servers 5,354 time in the past seven days. In total (blocked & unblocked) the meetcircle-netgear.co issued 694,134 DNS queries in the 7-day period. In total (blocked & unblocked) the netgear.com domain issued 10,907 DNS queries in the 7-day period. I suspect that these DNS queries are related to the Netgear Circle Parental Controls service embedded in the Netgear Orbi firmware? I added all three service string addresses to the NextDNS Profile Denylist. Adding those specific prohibitions does not seem to have stopped the services from querying the DNS servers, but NextDNS does seem to be blocking those queries. Firstly, why so many DNS queries from these Netgear-related services? Secondly, can I somehow terminate these Netgear-related services at the Orbi RBR850 firmware level? My RBR850 is running firmware V4.6.14.3_2.3.12. The two RBS850 satellites are running firmware V4.6.14.3. See the screen grab from my NextDNS Profile Analytics page for more info. Appreciate any insight or help offered!
