Dear community, I use 1 Orbi RBS750 satellite with my NBR750 router running firmware v4.6.5.11_1.5.66. Recently, I updated my Orbi RBS750 satellite to firmware v7.2.7.15. The satellite kept connecting fine and devices in my network connected to the satellite but it no longer showed up in the Orbi App or on the router portal (it is listed but shows as "disconnected"). Upon realising that the satellite firmware isn't compatible with my router, I manually downgraded it to v4.6.14.3. Again, the satellite connects, as well as devices to it, but it doesn't show up in the App or router portal. I've now tried everything: factory reset on the satellite, factory reset on the router and reconfiguring the network, downgrading the satellite further to v4.6.11.1, removing the satellite from the list of attached devices and re-adding it, adding it through the App, adding it through the router portal, hitting the Sync buttons on one or both devices, combinations of all of the above. I've also tried and failed to upload firmware via ethernet cable and tftp. The reason it fails, as I've noticed, is that I actually can't truly factory reset the satellite - it always boots up to re-connect to the router. I've tried holding "reset" for different durations, unplugging the power once the light turns orange and blinks... Nothing helps. The satellite pops back into the network but invisible. In general, my network is operational, but I'm rather annoyed that I can't manage it properly. Any suggestions?RBR/RBS 840 Firmware Update Issues
Hello Everyone, I was doing the manual firmware update to my RBR and RBS 840 items. I have 2 satellites on the system. When doing the manual update the first satellite went fine but the second one I could not get to update. Every time I would try to log in with the admin password, it would just take the entry and the log in window with the user and password would go blank and I would try it again and again. I tried a different browser with no change, I moved the satellite literally into the same room as the router, I rebooted it multiple times, rebooted the router also and no luck. So I moved forward with updating the router thinking maybe that would help "push" the update, etc. to the one satellite that wouldn't take the update. I tried doing the update to the satellite again after the router rebooted and still no luck. So now I have the router and 1 satellite on the current firmware but the one lone satellite on the old firmware. Any ideas on how to push the newest firmware onto lone satellite. Much appreciated ahead of time for the responses/ideas!SolvedRB760 cable upload speed capped at 100mbsp
If I connect my laptop through a cable to my orbi, the download speed is correct at 1gbps, but my upload speed is capped at 100mbps. If I unplug my orbi and connect my laptop directly to the internet, the upload speed is correct. How can I fix this? Upload speed through wifi is als correct at 1gbps. I hope someone can help me.Additional RBS 750 satellite won't connect to RBR 750 Router
I have an existing RBR 750 router with 2 satellites connected to it for about 4 years now, the system is up to date with its firmware and updates. I bought a standalone satellite to connect to the router, giving me three satellites for my household. I have tried to pair the additional satellite to the existing system with no luck. Utilizing both the app-based orbi add a new satellite has failed, as has logging into the admin Netgear site and trying that way. Have done a factory reset to the standalone satellite, plugged it directly into the router, etc. The satellite appears in the attached devices listing with the correct MAC address and under the router, but it shows as an additional device rather than a satellite. I have it plugged in via Ethernet to the router. Any assistance to get this to act as a satellite would be greatly appreciated. I have heard it could be a firmware issue, but I am unsure of how to update the firmware to the standalone satellite, as when I try in advanced settings/firmware update, the new satellite won't show. Thanks!SolvedNew RBS750 (satellite) ... can't check/flash the firmware
Hi all, Having some challenges with a new RBS750 satellite to connect to a pre-existing setup of RBR750 and another RBS750. The latter 2 are on V7.2.6.31. I do not know what the new satellite firmware is - and I think this is the problem. (currently when adding the satellite I get disconnected backhaul status in the router UI 'connected devices)'. I'm hoping my problem is something so silly it is immediately obvious to everyone. I have a copy of this RBS750's firmware ready to flash .... but I can't get into it! I am getting a connection refused message on my Edge and Chrome browsers with any of these solutions Orbi RBS750 won't connect to Router Fix | NETGEAR Communities (fyi, my IP for the new device is 168.192.1.24) [New Satellite cabled directly to the Router] And I've tried https://community.netgear.com/t5/s/ejquo23388/attachments/ejquo23388/en-home-orbi-ax/59072/1/OrbiSatelliteSelfServiceWebAccess.pdf [New Satellite cabled directly to a desktop that is on the network ) I've seen references/hits where static IP 192.168.10.49 & 192.168.10.250 don't work (not for me either) and I've also Tried static IP 192.168.1.175 & 192.168.1.250 as well ( https://www.reddit.com/r/orbi/comments/1himkqy/updating_the_software_for_satellite_which_was_not/) Chrome and Edge are allowed on the windows defender firewall ... (and I've even turned off the firewall to try that) .. no other anti-virus software. Pinging the IP works; as do pinging the IPs from 2.1 and 2.2 steps above. Telnet won't allow with port 80 (which from memory is the http port .. hence the symptoms I'm seeing above) ... I've seen potential ideas to (backup first) and then downgrade my existing/working RBR750 and RBS750 to v4.6.3.7 and try connecting the new RBS750 again through the usual orbi app/web interface to 'add a satellite' though wanted to check in with the brains trust first. Any help appreciated!!!! (so so so much trouble this thing!)Orbi 770 - Buffering
The issue comes to when devices, mostly iPhones, will start to buffer video, reels, scrolling. Device is stationary, not that should matter with the mesh network. Using videos as an example, it will buffer for 5-10 seconds and then continue. This was never an issue in the past, only once the 770 were installed. here is a quick look at the current setup. This should not be happening, must be a seting somewhere! Orbi 770 Router RBE771 Firmware: v10.5.20.7 (as of Feb 12 2026) Connected to Xfinity Modem via 2.5gbps port. I have 2 gig services so I expect higher results. The placement of the Router and Satellites are the SAME as my older orbi system. Orbi 770 with 3 units should be more than enough for my house, so the specs say. iPhone setting - at least one. iphone settings have been modified per some of the discussions on this group. Team, I have just had FTTP installed. My previous connection with TPG ran through an older TPG modem then into my Orbi system. With my new connection I am trying to connect my Orbi directly to the fiber through an ethernet cable. I can see the Orbi in my phone etc but it is showing "connected without internet". I cannot figure out how to progress this and feel the app is sending me around in circles. I have attempted to update PPPOE but not having any luck. Help please.
