Another CBR750 and Comcast/Xfiniity ISP Service Issue
Hi, I'm creating this post in response to https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-with-Built-in-Cable-Modem/NOTICE-CBR750-and-Comcast-Xfiniity-ISP-Service-Issue/m-p/2286189 I have a CBR750 with...

Hi there, do you have any updates?
I recently moved to Parker, Colorado, and had to switch from Centurylink to Xfinity. I bought the same set (CBK753) and am now facing the exact same issue. I was reading a thread from Xfinity's forum and that person said he had to get a standalone modem in the end, and then connect it to a mesh system. I might have to do the same (return the current set and get a new modem and separated mesh wifi) since Netgear's return policy is 30 days.

Hi,
Unfortunately I don't have a resolution for my issue. If you are still within the return window I would recommend going with a separate modem and mesh system. In retrospect, I should have done the same. You can switch out just the modem if you want to upgrade for example, to DOCSIS 4 once this is rolled out by ISPs, without having to replace your entire mesh system. If you can afford it, make sure you buy a mesh system with 10 Gb/s LAN ports and not only 1 Gb/s which is what the CBR750 has.
I generally like Netgear's products and Orbi is recognized as a good mesh system, but their support is totally disappointing for me. This entire issue has been one of the ISP blaming Netgear and Netgear blaming the ISP. I've paid over $600 for a solution that I need to reboot every 2 days. To be fair, the issue seemed to arise when Xfinity introduced some changes to their network - I was running stable for over a year initially but since these network updates I have had only instability. The Xfinity tech who came out to my premises indicated that this network change was implemented to increase the upload speed in relation to the download speed. The boot file (I don't understand whether this is Xfinity's responsibility or Netgear's or shared) doesn't seem to be aware of these additional channels and the modem doesn't sync fully.
Regards,
Angelo

I appreciate your reply, Angelo! Yeah, you are right. I think I'm not going to take chances and am returning this while I can. Hopefully, NetGear & Xfinity can work out something in the end. Or at least they should list this device as not compatible for now : (
