Hello community. We are using the Netgear Orbi RBR750 system. Every night around the same time. ~11:35pm our system seems to reboot. All our devices lose WiFi connection. Looking at the LED’s on the router and satellites they’re blinking like they’re rebooting. Logs don’t show anything before that time, it shows it initialize, get internet connection and all devices reconnect and get IP addresses. I’ve reset modem and router Manually installed latest firmware from the netgear site v7.2.6.31. Factory reset router and all satellites and setup fresh not using a backup configuration and issue still persists. I’ve seen similar posts but based on the descriptions it’s the internet that’s going out, not the router rebooting itself, or WiFi disconnecting. Any additional suggestions would be very welcome. Thank you!Orbi 760 and Vodafone FTTP in the UK
Hi, I've just installed my new Orbi 760 and Satellite systems connecting to my Vodafone FTTP (gigabit fibre) My FTTP box on the wall connects to my Orbi main modem/router unit via ethernet and I have connected 3 orbi satellites(2 via LAN and 1 via wireless) to the main Orbi router and everything seems to be working. However, the download speeds are shocking(I was consistently getting 600mbps/150mbps download/upload speeds with Vodafone's Ultrahub modem/satellites Is there anything else I should be doing? I have updated firmware, changed wifi channels, rebooted, factory reset etc. I'm not a total newbie at Wifi networks, but double NAT and DMZ is a bit above my head. Is there an idiots guide, or has anyone got any tips for setting this up correctly? Thanks, MVRBK852 - 5GHz disabled but Satellite shows 5GHz?
Can a mod move this to a more appropriate forum? The required "Labels" wasn't populating for me in the Orbi WIFI 6 (AX) AND Wi-Fi 6E (AXE) Mesh Systems so posting here in the hopes someone can redirect this to the correct place. Like most folks, I have a mix of devices and some of them only support the 2.4 band. After reading the forums, I disabled the 5 GHz band and was going to follow guidance to connect the 2.4 devices first, and then re-enable 5 GHz. However, I didn't get that far. After disabling the 5 GHz band, I wanted to verify the Connection Type for the Satellite and strangely it still reflects 5 and not 2.4 despite 5 ostensibly being disabled. What am I doing wrong? What am I not understanding? Appreciate any help or guidance. Supporting Info 5 GHz band disabled Satellite on 5GHzSolvedORBi RBSE960 - Dead with no activity Light
Greetings, I have an ORBi 960 Satellite that is essentially dead. There is no green light activity for the DC connection as there is with my other satellite (I have 2). The netgear AC adapter works with my other satellite, so I know it's not the adapter, however the dead satellite will not work with any netgear AC adapters. I have isolated the problem to the satellite itself. I've had the item since Jan 2023 and it's already dead after sitting in an office the entire time. The 1-year wrannty is expired and I a, not willing to buy another one for fear that this may happen again. Does anyone have any advice?RBK 852 Major Prime Day Discount. Worth Upgrading from Orbi RBK 752? Will Speeds Increase that Much?
The RBK 852 is 40% off for Amazon Prime Day. It brings the price down to $370. I currently have the RBK 752 setup. It works well, but despite having a 1 Gig Spectrum plan, my typical WiFi speeds when close to the router are in the mid-400’s. Later at night it might reach 600, but that’s when close to the router. I know that other factors contribute to speed, but it’s frustrating because my speeds aren’t that much faster since switching from the Spectrum 50Mbps plan. Would the 852 speed things up just on its own? Like keeping all the settings and everything the same as my current setup? Meaning, will the upgrade alone give me better speeds? I live in a 3,000 sq/ft single floor apartment. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!Wiz lights loose connection to Orbi RBR350 until I reboot
Hi 👋 I struggle troubleshooting why my WiZ lights suddenly lose connectivity with my Orbi RBR350. The minute I restart the Orbi, the connection in the Wiz app is visiable again and I can controle i.e. WiZ Light Bar, Ceiling light etc. On both sides, I use the lastest firmware. Orbi Mesh WiFi 6E System - AXE11000 - 3 pack - Black (RBKE963B) Firmware: V6.3.7.10_3.3.3 I have been using Orbis for several years now and recently migrated from a Orbi 5 to a Orbi 6E system when the it was released. It works just fine, having devices all over the house that use WI-FI and have no issues. I have a satellite on the 3rd floor (my office), the Router on the 1st floor directly connected to the Cable Modem, and another satellite in the basement. I have great service throughout the house. I recently (a month or so ago) acquired a Synology 1522+ NAS. I have it in my office, on the 3rd floor, sitting next to my main PC and an ESXi server which are connected to a managed switch, a TRENDnet 10-Port Multi-Gig Web Smart Switch (TEG-3102WS) connecting all my devices. The Switch is attached to the satellite. I have an additional a work laptop connected to the satellite via WI-FI. I have added the 10gb NIC to the NAS. The main issue is that the NAS will not connect to the internet. Using 1 NIC on the NAS, no matter whether I connect it directly to the Orbi Satellite, or the switch it is unable to connect to the internet. Wanting to take advantage of the 10gb (2.5gb really) speeds, I had purchased and installed the 10gb Synology NIC upgrade. So, there are 4-1GB nics, and 1-10GB NIC. I have tried the different NICS and combinations of the 10G NIC and the 1GB NICs. With the NAS connected to the switch, I can access it from my PC sitting right next to it. I have moved over 7TBs of data to it. The NAS however, cannot access the internet. The NAS is configured with DHCP on all NICs, including the 10gb one. On the ORBI I have setup IPs reservations for all 5 nics on the NAS. When I plug cables in for them, they receive the correct IPs.and DNS server / Gateway settings (I point the DNS via DHCP back to the Orbi, which has two OpenDNS DNS IPs configured for the DNS Servers). I need help. I have been struggling with the NAS, I just don't know what else to do. It's the only device I have ever connected to the Orbi that didn't "just work". Any advice would be helpful.Connecting cheap Obit router to my Orbi mesh (RBR750)
In order to use GE’s so call smart app for my new washer & dryer, it needs the least security options on the router. Rather the open my network to anyone, I bought a cheap router from Amazon - an Obit N300. Turns out Cox won’t let me (for free) connect that router to the second Ethernet port of the modem. So, can I connect the Obit to the Orbi so the Obit has its own network?Solved4.1KViews0likes20CommentsUsing same SSID on replacement RBR850 router would not work.
I have two complete Orbi systems with satellites, one at each home here in Georgia. They have worked very well and I’m very happy with them. , The 4 year old RBE850 ORBI 6 started dropping its Wi-Fi connection and Internet connection and displayed a lot of intermittent connection issues with the inability to login into the Wi-Fi even though the SSID was clearly showing. After a little bit of troubleshooting I decided to just go buy a new one as the local Best Buy still had one of these with two satellites in the box. It had always performed well so I thought it was just tired. Anyway, I’ll try to make a long story short but an interesting problem developed and stumped me and Netgear tech-support Inge me to spend almost 5 hours on the phone with them yesterday. Since I have 50 to 60 devices in the home that connect to Wi-Fi I wanted to keep the WIFI network name/password the same so I would not have to go to each device and reprogram them. No problem Wright, sounds simple. not for ORBI… it just would not work. The router would not allow me to use the previous Wi-Fi name and password and function correctly no matter how many times I reset it or how many different things I did in Wi-Fi settings to try and get it to work. it worked perfectly with any other Wi-Fi name and password but just would not accept the name and password from the previous router that I was replacing. The “2nd tier” Netgear tech-support guy in India spent several hours with me on the phone trying everything they knew as well and could not give me an explanation as to why that would not work but we did determine that this was just the way it is. I just used a new Wi-Fi name and went and did all my devices and everything is good now but I just thought thought that was a very unusual problem. I mean why would the router care what you give it?Solved
