RBK 852 Major Prime Day Discount. Worth Upgrading from Orbi RBK 752? Will Speeds Increase that Much?
The RBK 852 is 40% off for Amazon Prime Day. It brings the price down to $370.
I currently have the RBK 752 setup. It works well, but despite having a 1 Gig Spectrum plan, my typical WiFi speeds when close to the router are in the mid-400’s. Later at night it might reach 600, but that’s when close to the router. I know that other factors contribute to speed, but it’s frustrating because my speeds aren’t that much faster since switching from the Spectrum 50Mbps plan.
Would the 852 speed things up just on its own? Like keeping all the settings and everything the same as my current setup? Meaning, will the upgrade alone give me better speeds?
I live in a 3,000 sq/ft single floor apartment.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You might see a bit better speeds, however the 750 and 850 series are mostly similar. Sans the 2.5Gb WAN port on the 850. LAN ports are all 1Gb capped. Both support same version of FW. Review the spec sheets between the 750 and 850 for wifi specs.
Depending on WiFi device design and support, will play a factor in what wifi speeds you'll see. Most will top out at around 400-700Mpbs due to the 2x2 MIMO design.

After that, I haven't really noticed speed differences. I only really pay for the extra because its not much more and I can test devices better. Unless you're moving large data sets/files and the server you're using supports higher speeds, most users don't see a speed difference. Reason why is most servers you connect to aren't going to max out a gigabit connection because if they did that for everyone, their ISP costs/server costs would be astronomical. So they limit whats being supplied. The server you're connecting to is the bottleneck, not your service. Even streaming only takes 25-40mbps to stream 4k on it. Higher speeds are only really beneficial if you're moving large files or just testing things.
